Freshman Year - Taking the Challenge
So I walk through the door a good 15 minutes late and sit down meekly, with all eyes on me. I maybe mutter a "sorry", or an "excuse me". I'm 14, and I'm shy as all get out. It's May of 2002, and I just entered a room that would change my life forever. I get comfortable, and no sooner do I put my laptop on the table, than I get my first admonition from the dais. "No laptops, sorry". So it went under the table. Oh well. And so the Security Council of the first Model United Nations in the Dominican Republic got under way.
